Things are NOT good when Raegan gets too tired. Which I think she was tonight. The more tired she gets, the more she FIGHTS sleep. She was asleep at 7:30, and when we tried to transfer her to her crib she woke up. And then alternated fussing and hollering for over an hour. She's asleep now, but yeesh!
She definitely is clapping! She was doing it again tonight, and actually making some real clapping noises too. And as always, Raegan is insanely pleased with herself when she masters something new.
Zane finished his digital fourth quarter book report. If you want to check it out this link *should* take you there. It took a lot of cattle prodding on our part (heh), but I think he did a pretty good job. We are the meanest parents ever for maaaaaaaking him do it though. Oh, and don't make comments on his page, por favor. :) If you ever wanted to know ever tiny detail about the first Percy Jackson book, this is the book report to read. Luke finally had to say to him, "This is what 'summarize' means...." lol

Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day! It was nice, low key day at our house. Zane was at his mom's until 6:00, but it's always nice to go out to eat in the evening when everyone else goes for lunch. Nice setup, actually. Raegan and I went to church this morning because I had to play bells (I've had our song, Lamb of God, stuck in my head all day!) Then while she took a two and a half hour nap I made cupcakes, played Wii, and just chilled. After Zane got back we went to Appletrees for supper (yum!) and I opened my card. I got my present on Tuesday - my family necklace with Zane's name on a pendant, Raegan's name on another pendant, and Luke and my birthstones.
I leave you with a couple more pictures:

Zane's spring band concert at his school. He's getting so good!
Raegan and I hanging out on the trampoline. I love this picture of the two of us, but man, it really makes me think about how I need to work on my baby gut! :P

My two kiddos on Mother's Day. Raegan was a little silly and wild because her broham had just gotten home.

I want one!
How do I put a super cool header at the top of my blog. I've been trolling around on blogspot, and have seen a lot of blogs with personalized headers. Anyone savvy on how to do that?
Getting so strong!
Raegan was laying on her changing table this evening waiting for Daddy to put pjs on her. She strained up like she always does, but this time she actually sat up on her own. It was so awesome! The look on her face was like, "What did I just do?!"
I'm waiting for her to do it again so that I know it wasn't a fluke, but I think she clapped today also. Obviously it wasn't clapping like I do, but she pounded her hands together and it looked like a clap to me. Holding off on putting that in the baby book until I know if it was real or not....

Peecktures!
These are from our afternoon at Rolling Hills over Spring Break. It was Raegan's first trip to a zoo. We're going to get a little more abitious this summer and try the Wichita and Manhattan zoos.

This kangaroo reminded Zane and I a lot of our cat Radar, the way he was sleeping with his face covered up.

So Zane's picture taking abilities aren't the best! That's okay, I just like having pictures of me with my girlie!

Cheese ball.

Like I said, cheese ball. :)

Raegan was fairly interested in the rhinos. She didn't look at too many animals, but she stared at these big guys for awhile!

Here We Go Again....
.... but hopefully this attempt at a family blog will go better than previous attempts. Summer is fast approaching, and with no work and no classes, I figure I *should* have time to blog. (Says the mama of a 8 month old and 11 year old.)
So. Things that have been happening lately. This week has been full of firsts for Raegan. First tooth broke through Sunday (May 2nd). First ear infection on Monday (which led to Mommy taking a full day off work for the first time since coming back from maternity leave). First antibiotics, which have so far cleared up her cough somewhat and given her bad diahrrea and subsequently, an awful diaper rash. The tooth is on the bottom left, and broke through quite a bit more last night, to where you can see it pretty well now. It definitely hurts when she chomps on my hand!
Raegan has continued to be my content, lovely tempered child, even while sick. She's been a little quieter this week, but still is full of smiles and is content to play the day away. She still isn't crawling, but can scooch in a full circle. She wants to crawl so badly. You can tell that she is just going to be so darn proud of herself when she finally can do it.
Zane is down to less than two weeks of elementary school. And then on to middle school (yuckyuckyuck). He's decided to do optional ninth period so that he can take art, which keeps him in school for 3:20. This works out beautifully, because I typically get off work at 3:30, so he won't have to walk over a mile home and will only have to wait on me for 15 minutes or so. So we have that figured out, at least until December.
Tomorrow Raegan and I are relaxing at home, because we have a busy couple weeks ahead of us. Next week I have a loooong meeting after work Monday, school picnic Tuesday, GRADUATION on Friday, and Raegan's baptism and our family get together on Sunday. I'm excited for next weekend, although I have the feeling I'm going to be exhausted from it.
My goal for tomorrow - picture post. We'll see.....
